[SOLVED] SSD on Sata II Motherboard

Hi,

when we build a PC, SSD can be necessary. But, what if we build a old PC that only support SATA II interface? Does it reduce SSD Speed a lot?
Then what's solution?, adding Sata Expansion on PCIe x1. But it's only support PCIe 2.0, does it's matter? Let's say it's 2nd Generation Intel with H61 Chipset

there are many types of adapters with many variations of each so there is no definitive answer.

you would have to verify the data rates available using a specific adapter through a specific interface you were interested in.
and compare that to native SATA III 6GB/s data rates.
and then compute what this particular drive can achieve at this lower data rate.

A current SSD in a SATA II port will work just fine.
It will be a bit slower than if in a SATA III port, but it will still be miles faster/more responsive than an HDD.

Don't bother about adapters, etc.
