That is my question, if I were to go with RAID I could save about 120 bucks, and get alot more hard drive space

but I have some questions first

1. If I were to use raid on the Samsung Spinpoint 1 tb, would I get to use both hard drive's full (combined) 2 tb, or only get 1 of the TB

2. how hard is raid to set up?

3. Will I notice a difference between Spinpoint raid (about 250ISH mbs) to an SSD (around 450ish)

Solution
1 depends on what raid you select to use
2 not very
3 Yes that is almost double!
PS. If you can afford the SSD then it is definitely the way to go

If you mean RAID 0 then SSDs have lower latency which no matter how many hard drives you raid together will never match. Best thing to do IMO is to have a 60/120GB SSD for the OS and very frequently used programs and have a good 7200 RPM hard drive for everything else.
