SSD performance

Hi,

I have just installed an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD on my PC. After running a Benchmark test I can't get the real maximum read/write speeds (550Mb/s for read and 500Mb/s for write). The speeds I get 373MB/s read and 161MB/s write which are too low for my SSD.

My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-x58A-UD7 which supports SATA III 6Gb/s. I have connected my SSD with an Sata 3 cable into the appropriate Sata port on my motherboard. I also enable the ACHI mode in BIOS and I also install the latest updates for the Intel Chipset.

What else I have to do to get maximum performance from my SSD?

There are hundreds of benchmarks you can run it depends what you testing for.
if you want some real world numbers to compare, got to tell witch program you used, version, what test.

So after reading the article there is no way to get max. performance using Marvell 9128 controller....

Have you tested using the ICH10R? You can't expect full performance unless the motherboard or the controller allows it.
