SSD Power Cycling Question

I'm trying to power cycle my dead ssd. I'm just not sure if you keep the pc ON when unplugging the sata power from the ssd or do I need to shut down?

Every time you turn you PC on or off you are cycling power to the SSD. There is no need to unplug the power cable with the PC powered up to cycle the power.
