ssd reset port error

Hi everyone.

I upgraded from 7 to 10 and used the Minitool Partition wizard to clone my hdd to a new ssd. Now I have both disks and the one that boots is the hdd. I used as ssd benchmark to check if the disks are configured properly and everything ok. So far so good. When system boots I get the "port 01 reset port" error but it manages to load and start windows.

But now I saw that the ssd is about 2.5 times faster than the hdd and I want to boot and load windows 10 from that. (the OS is already in both disks currently).

Anyone know how to do that? When I try to simply remove the hdd I get the "insert system disk" error. btw I have ahci turned on.

Can anybody help out ?

Solution
Yeah it does.
Well....I did some reading....and almost all the solutions have to do with the data cable, the power cable and the port (switching ports).

Make sure the cables are good and try a different port.

...but one solution said the BIOS may not support the drive.

How old is your BIOS? If it's really old maybe that is the case.
I have tried different sata ports and when the pc boots up before the bios I get that "reset port error" on the port that the ssd is connected (eg "port 01: reset port error !"). I am now going to try different power cables.

The "port reset error" only comes up for a fraction of a second. I changed the power cable and it's still the same. Switching drives like that also didn't work: I get the same error and then the usual "insert system disk to continue". I don't know, perhaps my mobo is too slow for that kind of thing. Perhaps I have to settle with having windows on my HDD and keep the SDD for storage, it seems like a waste of resources though.

I bought new sata cable (what the heck, 1.50 euro) and connected the ssd on that. No success?? same reset port error. When I change the port the same message from the other port. I started thinking about speed: the mobo has 6 sata ports, each one supporting 3Gb/sec of data. The new cables and the ssd support 6Gb/sec, so could that be a bottle-neck issue? Whatever it is its something very basic because the error comes up even before bios loading (and when it loads the ssd is invisible). What you think, could that be an issue and is there some way to fix it? I am really getting upset with all this, I've spent tens of hours by now and it's giving me a headache. It's either that or my ssd is half dead !
