Hello i just put together this build http://pcgamehaven.com/best-800-dollar-gaming-pc-build/
i just changed out the case to a Rosewell Challenger.
so i followed the guide to build her, fire her up. so im looking at the boot priority it shows the SSD the HDD and the optical drive. Cat turns off the surge protector..... reboot and only the SSD and the Optical are showing on the list. messing around in BIOS I can see the HDD is still listed is SATA port 2 but its not registering it .... what did i do wrong?

Solution
click your windows start icon,in the search box type

device manager

go up with the mouse & click the 'Device manager' it finds under best match.

itll open a tab showing all devices.
click the arrow to the left of disk drives,it will open up & show drives connected to your system

does it show just the ssd or the 1tb drive aswell ??

1| You didn't mention the OS you're on.
2| Did you try using a different cables to connect the SATA HDD to your motherboard?
It's possible that the sudden loss of power may have damaged the HDD. It's been seen where some drives just went dead physically unable for access but it's been showing up in BIOS. Can you boot to OS/desktop environment?

opps sorry, i have Windows 10 home installed on my SSD. when i installed it it gave me to option to install on the HDD. ill try moveing the cables real fast

What's the issue exactly??
I have an older amibios board that will not show drives in BIOS properly if set to ahci.

Is the drive not showing in device manager or in disk management ??
Assuming you can boot windows ??

You are aware a drive will not show useable in windows until its been partitioned & given a drive letter in disk management ??

this is my first time messing with 2 drives, i have no idea what i am doing in this regard. i put the computer together like the guide told me to do and installed windows 10 like the guide told me to do (i'm referring to the guide within http://pcgamehaven.com/best-800-dollar-gaming-pc-build/). i don't know if i'm supposed to do something in the bios something in windows. i have tried looking up stuff online but it all comes back to i don't know what i'm looking for.

Issue is i think this,

Cat is in pet i assume.
