Hello!
I have a Samsung 840 EVO SSD (Running on SATA II).
Recently, while doing performance tests, I noticed that my write speeds are super low, since then I've been testing regularly for a solution. I tried turning off programs like antivirus and firewall, trying performance optimization with different programs (TX Bench, Windows Defrag etc), but nothing helps. Testing is done with Samsung Magician. Previously some tests would show adequate random write speed (~35-38K), but now even that I can't get. I tried running the test in Safe Mode so it will have minimal interference, but still the write speeds are in the gutter.
Tried running 5/10GB over-provisioning. Then I thought maybe I had too little free space. It now has 60GB free space, still nothing.
I'm kind lost here. What else can I check?
Here is an example of the average test :
Random Write varies between 6-8K and 12-15K on some tests.
Sequential and Random reads are usually like this and have been from the start (I'm running it on SATA II), Sequential Write usually varies from 230-270K. Random Write should be around 35-38K.
Maybe I'm being needlessly picky, I don't know...
