SSD Software Problem

I know not to defrag an SSD drive, but I installed a Samsun 840 250gb into my Tower, then used the migration software that came with it. After I defrag my C: drive and used the migration software to move over the data on this drive new SSD drive, at approx. 98% complete it stops ( the migration software ) and displays an error ( defrag failed ) migration then stops and nothing is moved over. Does anyone know why this software wants to defrag an SSD drive? and is there a way to fix it? Thanks Mash

Did you try to clone the SSD before the HDD was through defragging by any chance?

No the only thing I have tried is migration of ... and I don't know if this matters Windows 8.1

This was the error ( An error occurred while defragmenting the disk 3011400(049958) not sure if this helps out or not. It's also at 96% complete when this happens.

sounds like windows didn't recognize the ssd as an ssd and tried to defrag it.
have you updated Magician to the latest version?

updated and this time it hit 97% w/bad sectors on the C: drive, Ran the check disk in Win 8.1 fixed all, ran data migration and this is when it went up to 97% and failed, but not with the same error this time.... Looks like clean install and all of my photo software, video...ect lots of work this is why I was trying to move it over, any
other ideas?

Fixed it with Macrium Refect Disk Imaging Free on C-Net
not sure why the software that comes with the SSD does not work, but its all good now Thanks for all your help Mash
