Ok so currently I run a 120GB ssd just for my system nothing else.
I run a 2TB HDD for my games and other softwear such as word.
If I was to buy another ssd lets say a 2tb and put steam games on it would this increase fps?

Solution
no. SSD does not increase fps, it will speed up game startup and new level load up. But for active game scenes all of that info is loaded into the RAM already so the SSD/HDD has nothing to do with it from that point.
Yes, but not much.
It will improve your gaming experience.
Obviously level loads will be faster.
A game often takes checkpoints and that will go faster.
It takes time for a graphics driver to load textures and such from a drive and that will be more seamless.
If you have the budget, by all means buy the ssd.

And... 120gb is a bit small for windows. It will slow down and lose endurance as it nears 90% full.

List your system specs. We can help determine the best upgrade (if needed).

120GB ssd is small. I also buy a SSD that will run win OS and all games and applications. That way everything opens and boost fast. With your setup you have the benefit of a quick boot but then the applications boot slow due to the HDD.

assuming you have enough ram in your system other wise it will load stuff from the hard drive/ swap file as it needs it
