Hello.
My father owns an HP 17-BS049DX Laptop. More specifically, this one: ( https://www.cnet.com/products/hp-17-bs049dx-17-3-core-i5-7200u-8-gb-ram-1-tb-hdd-us/ ). And in the past several months it has started to show it's age. (mainly with booting up and loading programs) And I was wondering about the SSD upgradability. Does it just take any old SSD or do I need to get a specific one for that Laptop? And if it's a specific SSD for that laptop, please send me a link. $40 budget. Just need it as a boot drive and I already have an external 1TB drive so size doesn't matter. 256GB would be fine if need be. If it's just any old SSD I can choose.

Thank you in advance

Solution
Any 2.5" format SATA III SSD will be a direct drop in replacement for the existing HDD.

Samsung 860 EVO or Crucial MX500 are two recommended options.
