Hey guys, i need some advice.
My OS drive is an SSD, but a small one - i have a 64GB SSD for my OS.
I just had to change my computer to use up to 8GB of pagefile "due to game problems", and my drive was at 15GB before and now 12GB after.
And will fill to around 7GB remaining if the pagefile is used.
Is this a bad thing?, the pagefile had to be changed due to some games capping out the virtual memory in my machine, but unfortunitly i cant afford a bigger SSD at the moment.

Thats the point - its doing fine now, its still got near enough 20GB worth of space left on it even with all the Os and the pagefile, turning hibernation off saved a nice chunk of space - so it should be fine. Until i can get a bigger one.

I was using sleep for about 4 years. Ever since I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit, my computer kept waking from sleep almost constantly. With hibernate, it sometimes is on in the morning, other times not.

I am still working through task scheduling trying to see if it is another computer on the network, or something else. I have just disabled "wake on timers", but need to see if that also prevents Windows Media Center from recording a program while hibernated (meaning waking up from hibernation to record). Going to do that test now.

Thanks, I will look into that tomorrow. I will also have to look into my BIOS settings tomorrow. The good news is that when I hibernated the computer a few minutes ago, it did wake up to do a test TV recording. But that probably means other timers may be able to wake it up also. My TV "tuner" is a HDHomerun device that is indeed connected to the router via ethernet cable. I have a feeling it may be my wife's computer on the same homegroup with file sharing enabled. If she gets on it late at night while my pc is hibernated, it may be waking mine up. Even though I have mine set to hibernate after 35 minutes of inactivity, it has been on quite a few mornings. Her's is also set to hibernate, and doesn't seem to wake up by itself, but she is on Windows 7 Pro, so maybe there are some differences in the OS.
