I just bought a Precision t7400 and I was hoping to get the most out of my samsung PM581 SSD. The SSD was pulled out of my old optiplex running Win 7 64bit, and is installed in the SATA 0 (not HDD) port on the motherboard. I tried booting in AHCI but it gives the BSOD during the initial windows boot up animation. It boots just fine in ATA mode but I was told that it would be faster in AHCI mode. BIOS has been updated to A11, all drivers have been installed when booted in ATA mode. I am not sure where to turn because I certainly don't want to have to reinstall windows. Thoughts would be appreciated.
