SSD's Disk Space Filled 10GB Overnight

Hello! :3

This SSD went from having 21GB of free space left yesterday to 11GB left today. There are no temporary files, a disk check gave no errors, and nothing new has been installed that would fill up this space. The folders within the drive don't seem to match up at all with its used space.

Does anyone have any idea why this is? Am I just overlooking something obvious? Thanks in advance for any information.

probably you have enabled the restore option on system settings .... that´s why is filling up...

Did you preload a game on steam? Those always take up space on your c: drive until it is actually released and you install it.

Delete downloaded updates from C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder

Hi! :3 Thanks for the quick feedback. I think what you all are missing is the link to the picture that I posted: http://oi45.tinypic.com/33kdank.jpg

None of my folders, not even collectively, add up to 48.3 GB of space, which is how much is missing. My system restore file is equally only 1GB large. Even if I delete C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution, that doesn't explain where the other 10.5 GB is, and even if I had pre-loaded a game on Steam (which I have not), the amount of space available does not add up in respect to the amount of space listed in my screenshot above.

Turn Off or Shrink the Hibernation File: Applies to SSDs/HDDs
If you don't use hibernation mode, disabling it will save you several GB of disk space. If you do use hibernation mode, you can still shrink the hibernation file size. I say to do it at this point if you want to b/c it prevents extra writes as well. Also, hibernation is different than the normal sleep mode. However, it can allow you to have hybrid sleep when it is enabled.

Open the Start Menu, in the search line, type CMD
Right click CMD icon that comes up and choose "Run as administrator"
Type powercfg -h off and press enter to delete it or type powercfg -h -size 50 and press enter to shrink it

Hi! I gave this a try and there was no difference in my C drive.

Edit: Specifically, I turned hibernation off entirely.
