The SSHD caching is independent off the chipset, so yes, you can run it on a B85 chipset.

That I don;t know, but my Seagate conventional drive is very quiet. This is only conjecture, but if the cache results in reduced disk activity, it follows that the SSHD would prolly be quieter.
