Hi All

Can someone suggest stable settings for following setup:

My Setup:
CPU: 4770k i7 3.5ghz
Mobo: MSI Z87-GD65
RAM: Corsair Vengence 2133mhz
Cooler: Corsair H105

I just want to overclock the CPU to about 4ghz will do me, dont want to go crazy so no need for high voltages also dont want to use the OC Genie, and I dont want to OC the RAM

Any help much appreciated

Solution
4.0 GHz can easily be obtained with your i7 4770K.
Turn off Turbo Boost, C1E, C States and other power saving features.

Instant Overclock
Set VCore to 1.250V (you can try using less volts, most reach 4.2GHz+ at this voltage ) BCLK @100MHz, Clock Ratio for all core active counts at 40. Leave Uncore at stock amount, 35.

If you want higher clock rates in the future, try increasing the multi and stress test at the same voltage. If you want to push your CPU to the limits, increase voltage but watch temperatures; never let them go above 90°C for 24/7 use. 1.35V should be the max. 24/7 safe voltage for that CPU.

Hope this helps! :)
I would try running on stock volts sync all cores to 4.0 see what it does than i would run realbeanch for couple hours. If overclcok fails try bumping up the volt a little bit at a time repeat realbench and watch temps try to stay under 80c imo

Hi

Many thanks for your reply. Much appreciated

Which setting should I be adjusting on the bios settings for voltage?
Are there any other settings I should be changing?

Many thanks

I would have some kind of temperature monitoring when overclocking. The only voltage i would use is the cpu core voltage and i would keep it under 1.300. I would get cpu z http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html and see what volts you are hitting when you cpu turbos up and at the highest point i would use that voltage first at 4.0
