I have an Antec p280 and it is possible to install 4 120mm fans. And I have actually heard that even if the fans differ a lot in RPM's it would still be better than having just two fans?

Solution
Fans stacked on top of each other... Reminded me of this old video.

Yes, this video was a joke.

Back on topic, it's actually a good thing to have each fan in your case be at different RPM's. If they were exactly identical, the pressure waves would coincide and amplify, making this horrible beating sound. It's usually best to fill (almost) every fan slot in the case (unless it's got lots of fan slots in the top and you don't have a radiator to go in there), then work inside bios or with fan control software to balance the air coming in with the air going out, usually achieved by running the fans at different speeds; slower exhaust, faster intake. This is what some people refer to as fan tuning.

From the looks of the p280, I'd go...
in this:
http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=704504&fid=6&lan=us

from the site:
• 2 x 120 mm top TwoCool™ exhaust fans
• 1 x 120 mm rear TwoCool™ exhaust fan
• 2 x 120 mm internal intake fans (optional)
• 2 x 120 mm front intake fans (optional)
• Fan power hub allows you to connect four 3-pin fans to a single Molex for improved cable management

Looks good to me! Looks like there are places for a total of 7 120mm fans

4 fans in the case? Sure.

Fans stacked on top of each other? Not so much. Serves no purpose.

From the looks of the p280, I'd go ahead and fill all 5 fan slots and begin tuning from there. More fans spinning slower is always quieter than having less fans spinning faster to move the same amount of air. If you don't feel like forking over the cash to do so, fill 4 of the 5 fan positions, leaving the one on top closer to the front of the case empty.

Video reference to further explain what I'm talking about.

Solution
I just realized that the fans are not stacked inside that case at the front. They are actually 6" apart I was confused but now that I see they are 6" apart will I get the same effect as stacked fans pulling same direction I would hope being that far apart would help get the cooler air to the parts as the second set is well 6" closer and only a few inches from the GPU and the PSU the airflow might be stronger or colder right up against there with the help of the two front fans thanks a lot I know you already said fill all slots but my question kinda changed from stacked to pulling farther apart kinda?

And also I know it's a diff question but related now I see that I don't have enough power connections. I feel like over the past 2 years of really diving hard into figuring out so very much about building and all the conflicting variables that go with it that I haven't researched enough on the types of fan connections but as far as I can tell all sysfan connectors on MOBO are 4 pin and the big wide four pin and hole adapter wires that came with fans and the the one the case provided only has one plug in at the top of the case mixed in with the fan speed controller the new fans I just picked up cooler master sickle flow have both a female and male after the small three pin connector that connects to the fan itself will fit the cord that came plugged into the fan controller that I have already plugged in the two front fans I bought using the Male end on those can I just plug the female end to the other fan cable connectors. I know that's got to be very confusing the way I worded this one I know it's the worst well most confusing PC question I've ever seen let alone typed thanks in advance if ya can help I just don't know any other way.

My first question made no sense at all or it's just not what I meant to ask I had been building and pondering on the pc for a very long time well into the morning hours but I meant to say is it wise to stack them then realized that's not the way the case is set up at all it's got two more slots behind the front fans but they are 6 inches behind the first two so I'm sure that helps get air pushed in cold and harder pretty good and I've got it all figured out now. Thanks a lot guys.
