I have sound when the game first comes on, but then it starts going in
and out and then its gone. Definitely not the pot or wiring I switched
them and they work fine in my joust so I am guess its in my sound board
anyone else?

When it goes out, have you tried hitting the test button on the sound
card?
If you get sound, the problem is upstream on the CPU/ROM board. I had
a Stargate that wouldn't play sounds, but the sound card was
good...Andre found and fixed it, it was a PIA chip of some sort.

I have the same prob with mine, but in reverse, the sound only kicks in
after the game "warms up" about an hour or so. All connections good. I
think it's the switcher that's getting flaky.

ended up being the wiring going to the speakers...do you usually redo
the type of connectors on there currently or replace that with a
different style (molex) connector or something?
