I tried to install the driver of my new Brother LAN printer on two comparable desktop PC's (W10, 64 bit, v1903, antivirus only Defender). Installation on one machine was flawless. Installation on the other machine did not occur. There are two ways of installation: DVD or downloaded driver. Both have in common that it should do anything with activating a file named start.exe. Double clicking this file on the second machine did not provoke any action, nothing happens and no error message appears. Running as administrator does nothing.
It is not a general ***.exe problem. Double clicking of a different exe file generally provokes an action.
Any suggestion?
