Hi Everyone,
Two weeks ago, my Windows 10 start menu icon became unclickable. The Windows keyboard key still works with commands (i.e. win-L will still lock pc) but pressing it will not open start menu. Cortana is unclickable as well. When opening files with default apps like Edge and Photos, I get the error: "The Remote Procedure Call Failed" .
Last week I refreshed my PC, deleting all apps, and it did not help.
I then did a complete reinstall of windows 10, using the utility from the Microsoft website to download a complete version of the software and completely reinstall.
This temporarily fixed my problem - for about 2 days. In that time, I reinstalled various programs, reconnected hard drives and updated windows. After ~2 days, the same problems returned. So it is hard to tell what, if any, of the changes I made caused this problem to come back. Of course troubleshooting something like this is very time-consuming, if it requires reinstalling Windows 10.
Any suggestions??? Your help is very appreciated. I usually am a lurker and have had luck utilizing these forums but this one is beyond me.
Thanks,
Brendan
