is there any way to revert the start menu to the likes of XP, As I hate how it shows all the programs on the same menu...

Not available in 7. You had your chance to revert back to the classic start menu under Vista, but it's time to move on. Microsoft can't keep bring forth the legacy code forever. It's much easier to find things on the start menu now anyway... I can't stand the classic start menu after using Vista for 2 years. Personally, I'm glad they got rid of that time suck of a menu system...

yeah i like how u can pin your most used programs right to the taskbar (or whatever program) Windows 7 WOOOOT.. 10 more days... 12 or 13 before i get my package!!!

That's one of those MS decisions which frustrates people in IT....not fun having to lose productivity while 250 users learn a new way to do things. Personally, I hate cascading menus and use the Powerdesk Toolbar (now referred to as "Coolbar") to replace the whole start menu thing just as I use Powerdesk to replace Windows Explorer. Unfortunately the new owner of Powerdesk has decided to stop development of the "coolbar" so I'm looking for a replacement.

While I can see wanting to stick with the old and familiar I also don't see what the big deal is over the new task bar when people think its hard. Its really not. I got used to it pretty fast and most people I know who have Windows 7 who are not as tech savvy are used to it too.

Its simplified in many ways and makes it easier to access the programs you use most, select the right window to go to and of course find files.

Either way, there is no known way to change it for now. Sorry man but you ar out of luck and might have to go to Vista for that type of Start Bar.

What I really miss about the XP start menu (and I'm talking start menu here, not toolbar), is the ability to add folders and shortcuts to the "Start Menu" folder in my profile and have them appear at the top of the start menu. You can still do it, but the folder is added into the middle of "Programs" and you end up having scroll (I hate that scrolling start menu!) and hunt around to find it.
