Approximate Purchase Date: Looking to start buying parts and assembling in August.

Budget Range: Total to spend, after taxes and shipping, $800-1000

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Playing modern games, editing audio/video, UL/DL, surfing, streaming.

Are you buying a monitor: No.

Parts to Upgrade: Starting from absolute scratch.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes. Win 7 preferably.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I don't have one.

Location: Wenatchee, WA. I can drive to Seattle to pick up parts.

Parts Preferences: I don't care

Overclocking: I don't know what this means

SLI or Crossfire: I don't know what this means

Your Monitor Resolution: Vizio E601i-A3 TV (I believe 1920X1080)

Additional Comments: HDMI port and wireless capabilities are a MUST.
Would prefer at least a 500 GB hard drive but I have an external 1 TB I can use to supplement until I can afford to add a bigger one.
Need at least 4 USB ports.
Size of case is not an issue.
I already have a mouse and keyboard.
I'm not running any fancy software. Win 7 pro 64 with rudimentary editing software and Chrome get the most use. Can't play modern games cos of specs.
My only experience involves replacing a Hard Drive and RAM.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I have an Optiplex GX620. Need I say more?

I don't have any specific parts in mind. Looking for advice on this build.

The difference between the i5 and the Xeon is the Xeon build is best for the streaming. It also has 8 virtual threads (meaning 8 virtual cores.) The others have 4. You can get the Xeon for any of the builds below just replace the i5 with the Xeon and you will be fine :)
