Stay the course with my CPU or Upgrade proccessors for gaming?

Currently I have an FX 8350 (got it for a great deal back when I made my build) and GTX 760. It runs BF4 decently. I want to run ultra though, with high FPS and for my setup to last the next few years.

Am I better off upgrading the GPU alone to a GTX 980, or am I better off switching out my mobo and processor to an i5 or i7?

If I do switch, I will essentially have to reimage my hard drives, right? New Windows key? It will be a big commitment.

So what am I better off doing at this point?

Again, I understand AMD's shortcomings. When I bought it 5 months ago I got it half price, so power to performance was too good to pass up. Not having money for an i7 or i5, I went with what I could afford.

A GPU would benifet you, but personally I would upgrade to an i5 4670k. Just look at this

The single core performance of intel processors are just so much better.
Also if you switch your processor and mobo your hard drive and windows installation should be just fine. Just plug everything back up like you had it one your current one.
If you decide to go the GPU upgrade route, I would upgrade to a GTX 770 or 970.
Cheers, hope I helped.
an fx 8350 is a good CPU dont worry,
se you're better off upgrading the GPU alone.
yes a good i5 or i7 will give you some extra fps but it' snot worth it to spend over 400 dollars on a new CPU, mmotherboard and windows key

I myself have an fx 8320 combined with a gtx 970 and I play bttlefield 4 on the ultra preset at 1080p without any problems (a constant 60+ fps, I cant say how much as my fps is capped at 60) but I recon it's somewhere in between 70 and 100 as avaerage

Thanks all! I'm leaning towards the 970. I've got a lot of stuff on my harddrives. Im a photographer to, so not just a gamer. I imagine the FX 8350 will become more viable as more games start using multiple cores. Or at least I hope.
