So I've had this problem for a few days not. It started yesterday, I was using Windows 7. When I opened Steam, it crashed after a few seconds. I switched over to Windows 10 (I'm dual booting 7 and 10) and it did ChkDsk on its own, and then fixed itself. But now its starting to do it again, crashing after a few minutes of having Steam open.

I've tried all the "fixes" on the internet when searching "Steam crashes after a few minutes upon startup".

I've also tried turning off the read-only property of the Steam folder.

This is the event viewer crash log.

1) first, if there's a secondary drive (with another Steam folder) unhook it. Leave ONLY the OS drive.

2) if that still fails (Steam on two different drives fails) then perhaps it's a hardware issue like system memory. Thus I'd run MEMTEST86 for a full pass. www.memtest86.com
