Steam download keeps pausing; external hard drive

Hey everyone.

So I have a second steam library on a my passport 320gb drive until I can upgrade my internal one, I was able to install a couple games, but now all my downloads are pausing by themselves after a couple seconds.

Things download fine when installing them to my internal drive, any idea what could be causing this? Steam is installed in both drives.

Bad sectors? That would be quite unfortunate...

Any help and troubleshooting ideas are appreciated!

Did you played games before it paused?
