reinstall the wifi drivers,

is your modem disconnected to the internet?
try a lan cable connection
have done so.. I'm using a 150mbps USB wifi connector...lan connector does nothing either
My PC is connected to the internet and so is steam, but when I go into say Battlefield 4, the game (not my PC nor steam) just the game loses internet connection which is weird..considering my wifi connection is fine. thx for the tips

which exact error message is coming up?

try using DDU uninstaller and reinstall the nvidia.com driver
will try.. there is no error message coming up
its just that I couldn't connect to any servers in the game. even if I could get into a game, the ping is way beyond 1000. I have tried putting in my old gt710 back and everything is normal, I cant believe a new gpu can have an affect on my internet settings
