Steam Preload after release

Hi,
This is the first time I've preordered a game. Just Cause 3. And currently I'm preloading it. But since it's too big in size, I won't be able to complete the preload by the time the game is release (1st Dec). So I'm wondering what happens if a game is released before the preload completes?

Nothing - the download will complete and you will play.
