Hey guys . i Searched a lot about Steam vs Retail and i quite don't get how both really work these days and i'm moving to US and i really need to pick one .

1.is it true that you cant install mods or ENB on STEAM games ?

2.Is it true that i should insert my disk of retail game to play it each time ? or there's an online activation and i can put my disk away after activation and not having to use it on each play .

3.Are Steam Downloaded games physically accessible on your hard drive ? for example a retail game can be found where you have installed it . you can copy or cut it or interact with the game folder and files in general . is the same thing possible with Steam games ?

4.Assume you have no internet connection . can you still run your games on steam ? or you have to login each time you turn on your computer ?

5.Say i cant Afford more than one copy of a specific Video Game . does that mean my brother has to buy the same copy again ? Assume we both want GTA V on our computers and we both wanna be able to play online together . are we screwed and we each have to pay 60$ 🙁 ? i guess steam wont help because their family sharing thing does not mention anything about being able to play online at the same time .

6.How can i update a Retail version of a game ?

7.Any list that says which games can be installed on more than one computers and be played offline/Online at the same time ?

any help would be appreciated . thanks a lot people 😀

Solution
and you know whats more annoying . if you don't support buggy unoptimized game which is forced to run on a third party client . you might get caught and get sued for like ... so much . so the rule is either Play the game the way we want or don't play it . i bet Stalin's spirit is so damn proud of them 😀

but seriously !

1.there are games out there that have no retail version ? im talking about Famous titles not those mini games that can only be found online ? or are there retail games that should be activated through steam ?

2.Say you bought the game or downloaded it . will you get caught for cracking it just for your own use ? i'm talking about few MB of exe downloading not pirating the whole game .

please answer these questions . so important

a lot comes from the younger generation that never had a real pc game to start with, and don't know better, and had a x box as a baby sitter and dads c-card to buy games to keep him out of mom and dads hair . never read or comprehend the agreements and just hit I AGREE .. like I said so desperate to play a game he just don't care about nothing else
