this headset has 2 audio channels. one for game and one for chat. the whole headset is connected via USB which goes to a dial where you can lower the volume of either chat or game. at the moment. the chat volume is super loud in the left ear and really quiet in the right. and the microphone is really bad like you can barely hear me. but if i plug it into my laptop. everything works as intended.

this has to be an issue with my pc but uninstalling the device in device manager doesnt work. i have tried multiple USB ports. all the firmware and everything is up to date aswell as the steelseries engine. i put in a support ticket but since they take days to respond i thought i might have more luck here
 
You did not mention the small speaker icon in the lower right hand screen corner.

Have you gone into the Playback devices and Recording device configuration windows to look at and make some configuration changes. Usually via some "properties" button.

You may need to drill down through multiple windows and tabs.

Explore first and then go back and try some changes that seem to make sense.

Change only one thing at a time.

Keep notes in case you need to "undo" some change.

And if you are running Windows 10 try the built-in Troubleshooters.

"WIN" + "I" > Update & Security > Troubleshoot
