Step up to Gtx680?

Hi Guys,

I currently have a reasonable system, overclocked i7-3770k, 8gb 2133mhz RAM etc...

The graphics card I use is a 3gb EVGA gtx660ti, which is perfectly sufficient. However one of the main things I use it for is 3d modelling (I know Quadro/Firepro/Tesla would be better, but I'm a student) and the 660ti is eligible for EVGA's step up.

So my question is, would I gain much benefit from upgrading to a 4gb gtx670/2gb gtx680/4gb gtx680 for the likes of Autodesk Mudbox/3ds Max?

I know ATI may have been a better option but that is in the past.

Cheers,

Jamie

You should keep your current card and buy another 660ti. If you don't have the right motherboard pay some extra and get an ASUS saber tooth, that way you can even 3-way SLI. I personally thinks it's a MUCH better option!

Hi, yeah I actually already have a sabretooth haha. Was considering the sli option, but as far as I'm aware both Mudbox and 3ds max gain no benefits from SLI unfortunately so I'm just gonna have to go with the best performance from a single card. But thanks anyway!
