Hi Everyone!

Everytime I play half life( Counterstrike and Dark Messiah) , now and then I hear the sticky key sound. That one "beep" noise. After I hear the beep, I start moving in a single direction because I assume I sticked a movement key (wasd) I have to press the movement buttons to get it back to normal. I went to the control panel and am positive i disabled every check box under the stick key menu. EVERYTHING. Not one box is checked. Sometimes This happens also when i am not playing anything. When I hold down a key, it sometimes beeps. Not often though.
Any help is appreciated!

Im guessing this is a keyboard/setting/registry problem or something.

Before you say , press shift 5 times and uncheck use shortcut, Ill tell you one thing, I UNCHECKED everysingle checkbox there is in that stupid little menu and the herrendous beep wont go away!

You hit it on the nose. Hitting the shift key too many times in a row activates sticky keys.

It should work if you open the menu and click on settings you should be able to stop the shift shortcut.

Holding shift activates filterkeys and can be dealt with in the same way.

Editing the registry can screw up your computer.
Do at your own risk.

You could also go through your registry and set the flag to 506 (from 510). Just do Edit/find stickykeys or HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Accessibility/stickykeys.

Even riskier then above.
Not recomneded but you could just rename the stickykey or accessibility folders in the registry and all feautes in sub dirctories will be deactivated.

Thanks for your reply.

Its funny because I checked the value for the flag in the registry and its set at 2 😵. I changed it to 506 to see what happens and Ill let you know what happens.
