Store all the things for less with this $10-per-terabyte deal on Seagate's 24TB BarraCuda hard drive

As the manufacturer's warranty is how long they expect the drive to last, I don't think it's a good idea to get anywhere this much space without a 5 year warranty.

Why does size matter for backup planning? Bigger drives just mean more backup capacity is required. Doesn't matter if it is warranted for 90 days or 5 years.

(edit) also, a 24TB drive for $250 is not less than $10 per TB as the headline suggests.

A backup is no good if the drive doesn't work. :)
 
It's a helium drive and word on the street is helium drives are a lot more reliable than air filled.
That said, it's around 1TB/h on spinning rust, if you do the fast method of backing up the entire partition without error correction.
