Question Strange ‘Buzzing’ From PSU- Under Load Usually, Happens at Idle, and Especially on Startup

I have a Phanteks Revolt Pro 1000w PSU (a Seasonic brand) that came with my new rig back in February. I’ve noticed a strange noise that I really struggle to describe, coming from the PSU area

the noise is a sort of buzzing, I guess? can’t take a video due to phone camera being destroyed, but it’s inconsistent and intermittent. the way it appears and disappears is sort of like how the sound of electricity fades in and out (it’s not an electrical sound, I was just using an example)

on startup, it’s pretty constant, and much more ‘aggressive’, I guess if I had to describe it. under load is when it happens more often, but it does occur on idle, just fairly quiet. I don’t hear it with my ceiling fan and headphones on, but it’s strange enough to warrant concern from me

the only noises I’m familiar with from my PSU are my fan and the air coming out the exhaust, with a very slight humming, which is just part of the operation (the humming is normal and different to the other noise). this “buzzing”, for lack of a better term, is not constant even on startup and likes to come in and go out at differing intervals; the fact that it’s so inconsistent in its timings and not a persistent noise makes me believe it isn’t the fan hitting something or fan bearing.

can anyone tell me what it might be? like capacitor or transformer (whatever these terms are), and if it’s normal. I struggle to see it being normal, but I might as well ask. my temps and voltages are also perfectly fine with no strange behaviors, and by pressing my hand against the case and vent, the PSU is not abnormally hot either. it’s not coil whine

There's only so much you can convey with text, whereby you need the aid of other forms of media. In this instance we're going to need a video with audio to help understand what you're hearing.
if you’re willing to hold out for a few hours so I can borrow a phone that isn’t shattered from my friend, I can try and record the sound on startup and under load. it’s currently 2am for me so yknow

that aside, how much noise should I be able to hear from a PSU at close proximity. like I said, it’s not very loud due to me being far away from it, combined with my ceiling fan and headphones, but if I remove those and put my ear close, that’s when I can hear the fan, the exhaust, the light hum, and this concerning ‘buzz’

I'm in no hurry. To also add, we come around to threads when we've all found the time to do so. I'm not the only user on this forum, mind you.

About the perception of noise, you need to understand that noise is a subjective matter, much like art/design/beauty. One person can and will perceive more than you while another person won't even notice what you're hearing or seeing.

Some people hear the ticking of a fan motor when it's running at lower RPM's while another individual won't be complaining of the same amount of noise.

maybe because it just turned on after hours of being switched off, but I can't replicate the same noise, at least not at the moment. the fan is spinning and making the same noises as it always does, which makes me believe even more that the buzzing didn't stem from the fan but who knows. I'd recommend listening with 100 volume or smth

anyway, if you find the time, I took some videos regardless with the recording as close to the PSU vent as I possibly could, and some from the front of the case as well. just to see if you can hear anything abnormal or something off with the airflow sounds, fan noise, or in general

the third video I think is from when I shut the computer down and then pressed the power button again, but it annoyingly didn't record the exact start. there was also a kind of low "brr" noise when it started up, coming from the area where the camera is placed, but I'm struggling to tell if it picked it up

sorry, here's 2 more videos I thought might have sounded a bit different (taken an hour apart), apologies if they sound too same-y as the others
