Hello,

I bought a Corsair H115i several months ago. Ever since I got the cooler, it has been emitting this rubber/chlorine smell. It functions fine, as does everything else in the computer. It has no leaks. It also interestingly always emits this smell, even if the computer is off. Additionally, the smell appears to fade away while the computer is under heavy load for a while, however it always returns afterwards. So basically I am wondering, if it is possible to answer thses questions, what is causing it, if it is an issue for the computer, and if it is an issue for me (ie the fumes are toxic).

Thank you,
Any answers are appreciated.

Just curious, is it possible for you to maximize the pump speed without putting a load on the system? I.e to test and see if it's residue vs. going away due to thermals? You can be the judge as far as your PC's performance: Download HWinfo and see if your CPU is getting to unreasonable temps. I'd be slightly concerned with the unit. How strong is the smell?
