I occasionally see these strange ghost inputs from various keyboards for unclear reasons. I do have doubts that it's dirt or grime but won't discount the possibility out of hand.

But look- if I go to https://en.key-test.ru/ and try a key test, it doesn't register a key as being pressed constantly. If I hit print screen, what is weird is that the cursor- even if my mouse is turned off, will begin drifting upward. Don't know why.

The key test doesn't show anything anomalous. If I am selecting text, there is nothing like the up arrow is being held down or something either, which I would have thought would explain this behavior. (control cursor with numpad) if I hit the windows key, however, my item selection box begins drifting to the top left of the start screen. so basically above all apps, pinned tiles, and it gets stuck in "Start". If I press down arrow, I start fighting the 'drift'

Could this be a sign of a virus infection ?

If your mouse drifts upwards, you might want to see if there's dust/dirt/debris on the mouse's sensor or if changing the mouse pad affects the drift. I've had it with a pair of mice until I found out the surface off which the laser bounced off of was the issue.

Also, use malwarebytes to see if you've got any stowaway's on your PC. Make and model of your peripherals...?
