Let me start with mentioning that I have had some terrible luck over the last 4 months.

Bought an HP PC, something happened with the power supply and it needed to be sent back. Sent it back, when I received it, it was randomly freezing(this isn't even the PC I have questions about) -- Sent it back to HP again, and the issue was still happening and more frequently.

I recently just bought all of the following parts to build a PC.

-AMD FD8320FRHKBOX FX-8320 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition
-G.Skill 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 RipjawsX Series (10-10-10-30) Single module (F3-12800CL10S-8GBXL)
-ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
-WD 1TB HD
-EVGA GeForce 750ti
-EVGA Bronze 500W PSU

Now, at completely random moments (could be 5 minutes, could be an hour) the PC will completely freeze. No errors left in the system logs or anything. It can happen in the BIOS or even when I am in a game.

Troubleshooting steps I have taken:
Memtest
sfc /scannow
Reinstall windows
Different HDD
Use on board graphics

At this point, the fact that the same issue existed with my old PC is really what's troubling.

The problems are likely very related.

The prebuilt you purchased probably had a terribly weak, as well as poor quality, power supply unit.
This will cause your graphics card to stutter and fail, sometimes, but not always, throwing an error in event viewer.

The power supply unit you have, an EVGA 500W, is honestly not enough to run what you’ve got installed.
I would highly recommend using at minimum a 750W PSU.
I mean seriously, you have a very thirsty CPU, and while the 750ti isn’t exactly inefficient, it isn’t sipping power either.

Upgrade to a 750W or higher PSU and your problems will go away, I’m almost certain.

Pretty sure your mother board doesn’t have integrated graphics…

So, I removed the GPU from my HP and ran it on stock components and was still getting the freezing. So, you're right in that i haven't tried onboard graphics of my current setup, as they do not exist.

Do you think that PSU would cause those issues even when just running from the BIOS or like a windows Mem Test?

Honestly… that is pretty strange behavior.
Typically in the bios or DOS/Win98 based tests your GPU is at idle and using pretty much 0 power.
Those tests are not likely coded for 8 threads so it’s not pushing your CPU to its limit either…

That said… 500W is pretty low.

A good 750W will be right around $100, even modular. Depending on your local center they might charge you a restocking fee.
It’s a very simple test that should give instant results, but could put you out a few bucks.
And really, even if the new PSU doesn’t fix it, you’ll be better prepared and have a much more future proof PC.
Look for a PSU that has a single 12v rail, these are usually a little bit more reliable.

Definitely worth a shot. At this point, I am dumbfounded. In between the HP & Built From Scratch PC, I ordered prebuilt gaming PC, and it had CPU Bottlenecking issues. It's just been a mess for me so far. Just unreal how I have the same issue on two PCs. The powersupply issue could make sense, but on the HP, I know that my power supply was more than enough to run my GPU and that was the only thing that wasn't stock.

What makes you think the HP was more than enough?
HP, Dell, as well as any "gaming" prebuilts such as ibuypower, Cyberpower, etc, are shipping with the worst chinese 350W you can imagine. Their reviews will be filled with users having issues revolving around what amounts to a poor quality PSU.

I mean, as per the requirements stated by the device manufacturers themselves. But, the PSU upgrade is worth a shot. I will let you know.

So, tried a 750 watt last night. Froze after 40 minutes. Kept resource monitor and temp monitor up. No alarm usages. I am without an idea at this point.
