hi.
i am not a beginner in hardware, but i have strange issue and need help to resolve it.
i have i7-7700k and i7-6700 both tested on the same board msi z170a gaming pro carbon.
i use two benchmarks to test stability and the results are:
asus real bench stress test 30 min: i7-7700K + gtx 660 - pass
asus real bench stress test 30 min: i7-6700 + gtx 660 -fail, crash after 1-3 min
asus real bench stress test 30 min: i7-6700 + gtx 2060 - pass
furmark: i7-7700K + gtx 660 - pass
furmark: i7-6700 + gtx 660 - fail, crash after 20-40 min
furmark: i7-6700 + gtx 2060 - pass
it's strange. it seems that i7-6700 has some compatibilty issue with gtx 660, but i7-7700k runs with it flawlessly.
which component is faulty: i7 6700 or gtx 660? any idea how to check it?
