strange keyboard problems

for whatever reason today my keyboard has started doing shortcuts for a lot of the keys, for example simply pressing shift opens outlook, backspace opens up a developer window, volume down opens up the calculator and when i press o it also types 09 afterwards. there is no reason why this should of started happening and it is making my computer almost unusable, does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?

Yes however I do not believe the problem is related to the fn key.
