Dont worry about it. Its not your fault - I was aware that BIOS flashing can go wrong but was willing to try it anyway.

Besides, it would appear that the BIOS just refuses to flash at all. I was messing around in ther BIOS but cant seem to find any way to flash it at all. But as a result the original BIOS still seems to be in tact.

And because these issues are there I think its fairly safe to say its the motherboard causing my original problem. Sadly new motherboards are boring so Ill just live with the problem for a bit longer. Why couldnt it have been a broken VGA card? Any excuse for a 4850 would make me happy. 😛

Anyway, thanks for trying to help.

I'm happy you're bios still works, but I suppose the monitor problem is still present.
So you have also tried Q-Flash but it didn't work?

But what do you mean by new motherboards are so boring. There is some interesting stuff on the market right now, like the Intel X48 and X38 chipset. You should check out the ones Asus has build on those chips. They look nice, work good and have lots of good and helpful features.

The only thing I check for in a motherboard is the CPU support and the number of USB ports. <_< After that I skip to the score ratings of a bunch of reviews and reed the pros/cons.

Plus if I got a new one itd be in the £60 (120$) region, so itd be nothing fancy.

The only reason I chose my current one is because it was about the first board to market for the release of the Conroe chips, and I was impatient.

Its also the reason I have the lowest clocked Conroe. It was out a week earlier than the rest and I was building my new desktop after selling my laptop and I didnt want to wait.

Hi ,

I had experienced the same phenomena you have got.

I know it will sound weired but try copying you station to some over place.
sometimes the electricity has problems ,
I'm running 4 computers under my desk , and when I tried to fix some computer it just didn't have enough power / current to turn the computer on as it should be.

if it doesnt work then try switching your PSU .

i have this problem also, the monitor just does not receive the signal, until i restart it a couple times, i know nothing about computer and how to restart my video cards or anything. think anyone can give my a answer for dummies?

I have the same problem. Cant figure out whats wrong. The first time I hit the power button, every thing starts up but it appears the the monitor receives "No Signals". Then I hit the restart button . Then it works. Im worried will this get worst by the day
