Hello everyone,
I have a large media library of movies, family videos, pictures etc. on a 4TB Seagate Personal Cloud which is plugged into my router. I've been using the Seagate app to stream all the media (converted to .mp4) to my Chromecast. It's been getting more and more buggy, laggy, and sometimes movies don't load at all.
I turned to installing the PLEX app on the Seagate Cloud and it was a bit better but some videos are too high quality and it simply can't be encoded.
Would it help to get a Roku Premiere+ which can be connected by ethernet instead of a Chromecast and use PLEX to stream to my TV?
I have a standard home network. AT&T Uverse Internet @ 45Mb d/l. When I transfer files to my Seagate Cloud drive they transfer at about 60-100MB/s.
Our home modem/wifi router is from AT&T: Model: 5268ACFXN
We have about 4 phones, 2 ipads, 2 desktop pcs (direct connect), 1 laptop, 2 televisions connected to the network.
I'm open to suggestions. My brain hurts from the research.
Thank you!
Which Roku device is best if you suggest that as a solution? Thanks!
