I'd sincerely, sincerely appreciate any help in getting my newly built pc to fit my HDTV. I feel like I've tried everything.
My main problem: I've been able to get my desktop to fit my VIZIO VX20L almost entirely. However, the bottom border of the screen, and the right border of the screen have minor black bars. It just bothers me. I want it to fit nicely since this TV was expensive at the time.
Here are some specs.
THE HDTV:
VIZIO VX20L 720p 20" HDTV
(Based on a chart listed in the owner's manual, the highest recommended native resolution is 1360x768)
60hz
H sync P
V sync N
H freq 47.7
V freq 60.00
pixel freq 85.500
There is no overscan option in the vizio HDTV menu. I've thoroughly checked. Overscan is also greyed out in AMD catalyst control center. I can't click it or change it. And even at one point when I could it didn't solve my issue.
Using a program called "Computer resolution Utility" I've been able to set a custom native resolution: 1360x768. It took me hell to find out about this program. Initially the black bars were huge. Now I've got it looking much better.. but no quite. Almost there.
I wanna post a screenshot of my computer resolution utility but i'm having trouble doing so.
My PC specs:
Windows 8.1
AMD fx-6300
RADEON R9 270
I've tried fiddling with AMD catalyst control center. No luck there. I tried using the scaling tool to make a custom resolution, but the problem is that the actual picture seems to be offset to the UPPER LEFT of my screen always by a small amount. So if I were to try and make it bigger to compensate, then the left side of my desktop will be cut off.
Any help would be appreciated. I really don't have the money to go buy a new display.
