Hey all, Merry Christmas! Well I was trying to take off the back plate on of my CPU/Motherboard to install my new Hyper 212 EVO Heatsink and I ran into a problem with the last of the four screws. I've never touched any of those before and so I was completely surprised when the very soft metal screw, well I don't know how to describe it so here's a picture.

I have no idea what to do and I'm moving in a day or two so I won't have access to very many tools after. I've tried pliers, power drill, I'm stumped.

I take it the screw is stuck and the slot for the screwdriver is what's stripped out? If so, lay off the power drill. You'll need slow torque, speed/power will just continue to strip it out. Try using a smaller screwdriver. Can't really tell from the pics if it's a 4 way flat bottom slot or if it's a phillips. If it's phillips, you'll probably want a #2 or #1 (finer size). Try placing a rubber band over it, then pressing the screwdriver into it and while maintaining pressure to prevent slipping, attempt to slow and steady back it out.
