After upgrading my CPU on the PC I built, I noticed that it had some thermal paste in it's side, so I wiped it off. I then boot up my pc and it detects my new CPU. I then attempt change the settings for my new CPU, it does not respond to my keyboard, so I restart it it. I arrive at the splash screen and my keyboard could not respond. Occasionally it works with hitting TAB for post, but I'm greeted with a blank screen with either "_ " or a number at the bottom right corner (99 I believe?) and when I hit DEL to enter BIOS settings, I get nothing or I get a message at the bottom of the screen telling me it's entering BIOS, but it is frozen.

Old Cpu: AMD A6-5400k
New CPU: AMD Athlon 750k
Motherboard: FM2-A75MA-E35
Type of BIOS: AMI
GPU: Evga 650ti
PSU: Cooler Master 500w extreme power plus.
Ram: Corsair XMS3
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5

Solution
Well it should work together, that MSI motherboard should have MSI's M-Flash utility. Using another computer you should be able to download a new version of the bios to a USB Flash drive. Then follow the directions in the manual to flash your Bios. If that doesn't work I'd contact MSI tech support you can reach them at 626.271.1004 6am to 6pm PST. Be sure you have you system information handy including your MB s/n number. Good luck!
