Always remember Gaming has nothing to do with 'RENDERING' (CAD, MAYA, Video processing, etc.). The graphics card your identifying will not provide the same 'oomph' as it provides for the gaming because they address thing differently. You can only choose between FPS in gaming (thus get a gaming card) or RENDERING times for CAD, etc. (i.e. render a 30 story building schematic with all piping, wiring, fire alarms, etc. would take an hour instead of several hours or a day to fully 'Render' ) by using a Graphics WORKSTATION Card (Liek the FirePro or Quadro cards).

So you know your expectation level of the performance when you make this decision. You can only do one, or the other. There is no middle ground.

I'm not doing that heavy stuff. The computer is going to just do some minor stuff for my son's robotics team. 3D printer stuff. I don't have the money to spring for a workstation card, nor do I think my son will need it.
