Hi -
First poster here so I hope I am following decorum.
I just rebuilt a PC that is running our video server, security system and steam games for devices throughout the home.
Gigabyte B360M-DS3H
Core i5-8400 2.8GHz
16GB Corsair Vengeance 2400
ATI Radeon 550 (don't need high end for this unit)
Everything *was* fine. Then I benchmarked it with UserBenchmark and got anticipated average to below average scores -- fine. I got around to downloading updated drivers for everything - still fine. Then I made the mistake of trying out the gigabyte appcenter - specifically, easytune.
I tried overclocking the cpu and the memory with easytune since the BIOS really didn't want to when I tried it that way (wouldn't save). Raised the memory from 2400 to 2600 and the cpu up to 3.7GHz (which it says turbo max is 4.0). I had no intention of leaving it -- just wanted to see what it would do for the benchmarks.
The mouse began lagging - freezing for a second every 3-5 seconds or so. So I reset everything back to the default settings (and made certain they were set to defaults several times) and thenuninstalled the easytune and other apps I didn't want. Thought that would fix the mouse.
The mouse lagging remained. AND - the cpu clock is stuck at 3.7. The BIOS says it is set at the default 2.8 but running at 3.7. Speccy says it is running at 3.7.
I got a hardware error on that mouse glitch --

Tried different mice, uninstalling, same problem. For the overclock, I was about to download the latest BIOS and reflash but I know that is not a first step so I am waiting to hear what y'all might say. I am on version 3 and I think v.6 is available for this board.
OK since I am usually overlooking something, anyone know what I missed in how to fix this?
Thank you in advance - the forums here are invaluable.
