Hey, i need to give this pc today and i have a huge problem. I formatted the hard drive and began windows installation. After that the installation made a restart and now this happens.

If i remove the hdd it doesnt stay that way. The screen in the picture has been staying like that for 30 mins..

I have celeron dual core e1200, geforce 9400gt and 2gb ram, it worked perfectly before windows installation.

It was a clean install, not an upgrade

First of all, Windows has nothing to do with how your system will POST. With that said, what else has changed? From what I see from your screen you're trying to boot from just a slave drive? Did you remove a second drive that was a master? Assuming nothing else changed, I also see you're running a 7 year old firmware with an IDE drive. With hardware that old, all bet are off, meaning you've reached end of life.

Start by getting you BIOS to see the drive. If you don't detect your drive there Windows setup will never find it. One note about windows setup in that it doesn't always like to see multiple drives. Also I've seen where it wants only a raw drive meaning no data no format. Remove all partitions.

Which Windows are you trying to install? If it's XP, you need SP2 or better for native support for SATA drives. (I have a Maxtor 6Y200M0 and it's a SATA drive so I assume the 6Y160M0 is a 160GB SATA version.)

You're trying to install onto the Maxtor and that's the only drive currently installed, right?
