We're looking to add a laptop that will primarily be used for student learning, but want something beefier than a supercheap chromebook and that is easier to use than a tablet in a stationary setting for extended periods. Portability/gaming are not priorities.

1. What is your budget? probably around $750 or less.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 13-15" screen preferred, size of the actual unit isn't important.

3. What screen resolution do you want? middle of the road. Not gaming on this. Touch screen wanted.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Yes, but doesn't need to be super portable.

5. How much battery life do you need? Not a primary concern. Will be in situ most of the time.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Not really.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) - web browsing, meeting apps.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? Not as important, have external backup as needed.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. NA

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? 2-4 years is likely.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? NA

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. NA

13. What country do you live in? USA

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed. - This will mostly be an elementary student learning device primarily, but we'd like it to grow with her for the next few years. Touch screen wanted to ease the transition to a computer from tablet world. We would like Windows-based, as it may get secondary use by adults in productivity settings.

Thanks! That's one of the models I had looked at, and we get a corporate discount there, so we can probably stay on budget. Good to hear some have had a good experience with it.
