So I get about 150 fps when I first started playing games. Then around an our later and going to a different game, the game stutters every time I move my mouse. The fps drops down to 30-40. I checked and updated my drivers and have changed most of my pc settings to performance. Don't know what else I could do

My pc:
MB: MSI 970 gaming
GPU: GE force gtx 780 ASUS direct CU II OC
CPU: amd fx-8350
Ram: 20 gb
Monitor: HP Pavilion 21.5-Inch IPS (VGA plugged in atm)

wow 20GB. i was about to say you have a RAM problem :D

you can try to disable Superfetch in your Services (press winkey+s. and type the italics). this is known to cause some games to go slow.

also go to advanced system settings (press winkey+s and type the italics). advanced. performance. change virtual memory. disable paging. restart. go back to this setting. checkbox the automatic option.

no you dont. this is a one time thing. only do it again if you notice the same issue.
sometimes the windows automatic paging doesnt give you the best settings the first time.
OR you can do manual settings as well. just taek note of the recommended size set by windows auto.
* recommended -> initial
* recommendedx1.5 or 2.0 -> max

just go to the virtual memory settings window. uncheck the automatic. select custom. and set accordingly. and click the set button. ok. restart.

maybe you also have to consider changing your RAM to 2x8GB instead of 3 mixed RAMs. are you having a 2x8+4? if you are, try removing the extra 4Gb RAM stick. and you wont be having this issue and having to depend on the paging memory too much.

Alright. One last thing. Is the max the amount of space avilable?

your MAX is the amount of free space you have on your HDD. but its more effective if you base it on your max available free RAM instead by my experience for old machines. or just simply double the recommend/initial value is already enough.

your machine dont need more than 16gb. it will be best if you have a faster RAM and take advantage of the dual channel. but if you dont want to spend the extra buck on an old machine. you can manually free RAM space as well.

if you are using windows 7

if you are using windows 10
