Hey People, Recently i've been having 90-100% cpu usage in the game Call Of Duty warzone. I've heard of other people that this is because the I5 doesn't have hyperthreading. So i was thinking if i should upgrade to a i7 8700K, will this give a big performance gain?
These are my current specs( I also think my CPU bottlenecks my gpu a bit) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/BertDeDikkerd/saved/
I would go for a ryzen cpu but that is no option since i have to change motherboards then.

Can anyone give me some good advice?

Thanks, Jiry :)

Solution
why would you buy last gen? I suggest buying i7 10700k, or i5-10600k.

IF i were to choose, i would go with the 10700k, but the 10600k will do the job aswell ( its also a 6/12 cpu)

edit: i just saw ur last comment you dont wanna change motherboard. then yes 8700k is your best option and its very likely that it will save the day for you.

If i would swap motherboard, which one would you reccomend that is good and the price is not to steep, is it worth it to swap motherboards?
Also how much performance gain would the i7 8700K give me not much right? So I don't really think that is worth it :c

which one is your current CPU?

If i were to upgrade now , i would buy the 10700K, thats a 8core16thread monster CPU.
for motherboard i would buy gigabyte aorus master z490 probably.

However if you are looking at budget options the 8700k is very good CPU.

If i assume currently you have a i5 8600K, that means you get hyperthreading with the 8700k.

That alone is around 30% performance boost in multithreaded applications.
