The CXM grey version is solid Tier 3 unit. Don't get the green letter model.

The Seasonic Focus series should be much higher quality, Tier 1. What I can find is the Focus series and the Focus Plus series are the same quality. The Focus is just Sem-Modular and the Focus Plus is full modular. I'd buy that over the the CXM. It is also more energy efficient.

Personally, I'd spend the extra $1.42 for the Full modular Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550W. Which is a Tier 1 and that series got a 9.8 out of 10 on Johnnyguru.

I wouldn't get the Seasonic M12II Evo. It is a dated design and Tier 4. The Corsair CXM (grey) and Seasonic Focus Gold are better made. Also as I understand it the old Evo doesn't support C6/C7 power states.

I chose their 650W 80+ Gold G-Series PSU.

Should be a good unit. I have the Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 850w.

Unless you are going nuts with the video card. You should be fine with 550w. Then you can go full modular.

EVO is not a TIER 4 or whatever that means...LOL

The M12II EVO series is an upgraded Seasonic product family that supports Intel’s fourth generation of core processors and provides reliable performance for enthusiast seeking 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency. The main features of the M12II EVO series units at a glance are fully modular flat black cables, highly reliable 105°C aluminum electrolytic capacitors, Smart and Silent Fan Control technology (S2FC), ample +12 V output and Seasonic’s 5-year worldwide manufacturer’s warranty.

What are Tiers?
