Alright, so, i bought myself a WD Black 1TB HDD about a year ago. It was running perfectly fine, wasn't noisy and everything was loading much quicker than my previous HDD. However, about 2 months ago, it suddenly started to read and write slower. Whenever i'm opening Windows Explorer or something else, the disk starts spinning so fast, it actually vibrates my desk and stays like that for about 5 minutes after the application has loaded. There's no clicking, no buzzing, nothing that would indicate a mechanical problem.
I downloaded Hard Disk Sentinel and ran benchmarks and tests with other types of software, absolutely nothing. S.M.A.R.T. doesn't say anything, HDS says the drive is in 100% perfect condition and no problems. I have automatic defragging enabled in Windows that defrags the disk twice a week, so i don't think that's an issue. I disabled/enabled prefetch and superfetch to see if it will make a difference, still nothing.
I'm running out of ideas at this stage, does anybody else have any suggestions ?
